Kia Ora Ake

Kia Ora Ake provides hinengaro wellbeing support for tamariki (5 to 12 years old) and whānau at primary and intermediate schools across Counties Manukau.

Kia Ora Ake is a free wellbeing support programme available to tamariki at available schools.  

The central vision of Kia Ora Ake is to provide taurite and hinengaro – mental and emotional wellbeing – for all tamariki.

  • Kia Ora Ake supports children aged 5 to 12 years old at school. It is suitable for children experiencing an impact on their wellbeing. Whānau and caregivers of students requiring wellbeing support are supported by Kia Ora Ake.

  • Referrals can be made via the school or direct from whānau to your Kia Ora Ake team. Kia Ora Ake is free.

    • The Kia Ora Ake team work with schools and whānau when concern for wellbeing has been raised.  

    • Kia Ora Ake provides tailored wellbeing support for the whole of school, classroom, year level, small group and /or individual as required. 

    • Whānau support can be offered as needed in safe spaces - whether at school or in the community. 

    • Kia Ora Ake kaimahi trained in wellbeing support can help tamariki learn skills such as emotional regulation, building positive relationships, device   management, adapting to changes, and more.  

    • Kaimahi can help connect your school and whānau to community resources to enhance overall wellbeing.
